With 35 international Vogue appearances and countless runway shows under her belt, Gigi Hadid is one of the most influential models of 2019. Her striking looks can only be rivalled by her younger sister Bella Hadid, who also has an impressive CV of magazine covers including Vogue, Elle and Paper. Talk about hair goals, Gigi’s trademark blonde bombshell look and Bella’s sultry brown locks couldn’t be more opposite, but look so perfect paired together. Granted that they are supermodels and likely have an entire hair team – we’re going to show you how you can easily DIY their hair style. So grab your sister or your bestie because you can recreate these iconic looks at home.
A look that could possibly be headache-inducing, but really looks the part.
Brush your hair back off of your face and hold in a ponytail. Apply your choice of gel on your hairline (we recommend MoroccanOil), and smooth into the rest of your hair. Ensure all bumps and lumps are brushed down and tie with a hairband. Run through your hair again with extra gel, make sure to get all those pesky fly aways. You can leave your ponytail straight like Gigi, or clip it into a slick bun like Bella. There, a tight ponytail even Ariana Grande would be jealous of.
If your hair cannot be tamed by gels and oils and demands to be frizzy, you can get a Kerasilk treatment at the salon. The Hair Boutique offers this treatment which makes frizzy hair silky smooth and lasts for months. Give us a call to book a Kerasilk treatment with one of our stylists.
2. Wavy Balayage
The word balayage comes from the french word ‘to sweep’. During a balayage, colour is painted onto strands of the hair to create natural looking sun kissed highlights. Similar to an ombre in that it is mainly focussed on the bottom of the hair; one bonus of a balayage is that there is no harsh regrowth, so no constant trips to the salon. Here at the Hair Boutique, we pride ourselves in being balayage specialists. Gigi rocked the blonde balayage at the CFDA charity event and paired it with loose curls for an effortlessly cool vibe.
3. Slick Pixie
Not our usual Bella hair look, but my god, what can’t she do. At the MET gala this year, Bella opted for a slick pixie cut. This look requires a fine toothed comb and some patience.
Brush a side parting into place, straighten and comb. Create a fashionable ‘sideburn’ (that does not sound glamorous but it is what it is) by separating a small amount of hair and putting it in front of your ear. You can do some really precise styling by spraying the head of a toothbrush with firm hold hairspray and using it to shape your hair.
Thinking of going short but not sure if it’ll suit you? The answer is here on our blog!
4. Double Pony’s

3/3 At home with Helena for @vogueczechoslovakia 🍃 The farm is so special to me and the way @helenachristensen approached shooting this meant so much 🙏 (it is an honor to call you my friend, creating this together was a dream)! So excited to share this full cover story soon !! Produced by US ! 🙂
If it’s good enough for the cover of vogue, it’s good enough for us. Gigi is serving us some high fashion cowgirl with this double low pony.
A simple look to achieve, curl your hair, keeping it fluffy and messy. You can also add salt spray or other curling products to enhance the beachy waves. Create a middle parting and tie your messy locks in two low ponytails with a hair coloured hair band, or wrap strands of your own hair around the band to make it invisible. Add a cowboy hat if you’re really feeling it.
5. The Vintage Lob
A hairstyle reminiscent of the 60s, Bella’s smooth and simple hair flicks look as glamorous as Priscilla Presley’s. If you fancy pampering yourself, you can get this look by heading down to the salon for a blow dry and style. At The Hair Boutique, we offer an exceptional blow dry service and use the finest hair care products including MoroccanOil, KMS and Goldwell.
6. The Plait Ponytail
Another slicked back look from Gigi, a high ponytail with a twist.
First, straighten your hair, then use your brush or comb when pulling back your hair to create a bumpless high ponytail. Tie it up, plait your ponytail and add hairspray if you fancy. Nice and easy. The hardest part is getting the right lighting for an instagram worthy photo.
