Keeping You Safe In Our Salon

June 27, 2020

Following the government's advice, we will be reopening on July 4th! Yay! It has been a looonng 3 months so we cannot wait to get back in the salon and get our hands on some hair.

It is important to remember that though lockdown is being widely lifted, coronavirus has not gone. Things are far from normal and we want to make sure that you and our stylists feel safe in our salon. We have fully prepared our salon for opening in accordance with Government guidelines and performed our own risk assessment that confirms to Covid 19 requirements. Here's a little rundown on what we're doing to keep you safe:

*Update* We have completed our waiting list, so if you would like to book an appointment with us please call 01392 4991672 or book online here.

1.PPE

We have secured screens, masks and visors for our stylists. There are screens being placed at reception and between each backwash sink.

It is now mandatory for you to wear a mask during your appointment. We have a supply of single use masks available for clients to wear, alternatively you may bring your own.

According to government guidelines, it is compulsory for every stylist to wear a visor and a type 2 face mask whilst they are hairdressing. This may make conversation a little bit difficult but we will do our best to communicate with you clearly. We all need a good catch up!

2. Cleaning Measures

We're increasing our already thorough cleaning measures to keep you safe. This includes sanitising each station between client, washing gowns and towels after each use at a high temperature. Touch point surfaces will be cleaned twice every hour (this includes door handles, reception desk, waiting area etc). We use Barbicide disinfectant to clean tools such as combs and brushes.

Every night after closing, we will deep clean the salon with disinfectant - this also includes mopping the entire salon.

During lockdown a number of our stylists have completed a Barbicide Certification course which is tailored to COVID measures, so you can rest assured we know how to keep you safe.

3. Social Distancing

We will upkeep social distancing in our salon as much as possible. The waiting area will be altered to accommodate the 2 metre rule, we ask that you do not bring anybody with you to your appointment to minimise the number of people in our salon. Please arrive promptly to your appointment.

Each of our stations are set 2m apart from each other to keep you safe. We will make your appointment as smooth as possible but please bare with us when we are guiding you through our salon to your station and to and from the basins.

We have altered our staff rota so that there is not too many stylists in the salon at one time. To accommodate this, we will be open 7 days a week for the next month (until the 15th of August). Our opening hours have been extended to 9am-9pm Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm Sundays. From the 15th of August onwards, we will be closed on Sundays.

Our reception team are available to take your calls from 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday. We're always active on social media, so feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram if you have any queries!

4. Health & Hygiene

If you have any coronavirus symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with coronavirus symptoms, please do not attend your appointment. If this happens, you should call our salon on 01392 499162 and inform our reception team so we can reschedule your appointment.

We will be taking everyone's temperature on arrival to the salon - this will be with a contact free thermometer. If you do have a temperature, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment to a later date.

Please bring as little with you as possible (e.g. bags, coats). We will have sanitised boxes at each station for your belongings.

We unfortunately will not be accepting cash, we are accepting card and contactless payments only. Gift cards are still redeemable. Where we can we will bring the card machine to your station to minimise the contact at the reception desk.

Antibacterial hand gel is available to use and is dotted around the salon (on stations, reception, etc), we encourage you to use this on arrival and throughout your appointment. Our stylists will be frequently using antibacterial gel and washing their hands between each client and throughout the day. We have removed the towel in our bathroom and replaced it with paper towels, please dry your hands with these and put in the bin provided.

Finally, we are not able to serve any refreshments when we reopen. Feel free to bring your own drinks!

staying covid 19 secure accessible

A note from us:

It is very sad that we will not be able to operate as usual, it will be hard to hold back the hugs! After not seeing each other for so long, we would love nothing more than a hug, a coffee and a mask-free catch up. However, we all know the safety of you and our stylists is the most important thing. We've never operated like this before so please be patient with us, it'll take some getting used to! Even in these circumstances, we cannot wait to get back in the salon and see all of your lockdown hair disasters  ?

Here's a summary of the information above:
